The Town of Hogsmeade

Luna skipped out of a nearby shop and onto the road. "It's pretty today." She said to herself as she looked around at the snow-covered town.

"Hello there Luna" Susan said with a small smile.

Before Luna could say anything, Draco came storming out of the shop next door. He groaned and rolled his eyes and Pansy followed him out, bickering at him as usual.

"What is the trouble now?" Luna said, a little blankly

"Did you see what the Daily Prophet says?!" Pansy shouted, shoving the newspaper at Luna.

Luna stared and began to read the article that she assumed Pansy was upset about, "The Ministry wants to take all magic out of Hogwarts?" She muttered in shock, looking back at Pansy. She gulped when Pansy nodded in response, "But doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of why we go to Hogwarts?"

"That's what I said!" Pansy shouted back. She pointed a finger towards Draco, "He thinks its a good idea!"

Susan stared in shock as she heard the news and said "But the ministry can't take away magic can they?!"

Draco turned and growled at Pansy, "I never said it was a good idea! I just said that we don't know why the Ministry is doing it and I said that they probably had a good reason!"

"Good reason?!" Pansy snapped back, "What exactly is good about them basically shutting down the purpose of our school?!"

"Where does it say they're shutting it down?" Draco retorted, walking up close to Pansy's face, "You're over-exaggerating things again! That's what you're doing!"

"Over-exaggerating, am I?" Pansy replied with a shocked look on her face, "Well excuse me for being a bit concerned at the fact that now we lost almost everything that Hogwarts has ever had!"

Luna giggled a little to herself as she watched Pansy and Draco fighting. She zoned out a litte and became distracted by a squirrel running up a tree.

Draco was about to snap back at Pansy when he turned blankly towards Luna, "And what exactly is so funny?" He glared

Luna gave a dazed giggle and re-focused on Draco, who now looked as if he wanted to kill her. She cleared her throat, "Well if you ask me, this whole thing seems a little pointless. I mean, why do we have a school for magic if we aren't allowed to use it?"

"See?" Pansy turned and rolled her eyes, "Loony of all people gets it, I don't understand why he doesn't..." She muttered to herself.

"Oh I understand it perfectly." Draco muttered back, "I just don't think its that big of a deal, I mean, we're old enough, atleast I know how to do magic well enough on my own."

"Read the fine print." Pansy said, yanking the newspaper away from Luna and shoving it at Draco. She pointed to a section of the article and read it aloud, "As of now, the Ministry of Magic has forbidden any Hogwarts student or member of staff from using magic inside and outside of the school." Pansy smiled to herself when she saw Draco's blank expression.

Draco re-read the section again and sighed, "Well still, it isn't that big of a deal. If we are forbidden to use magic, then there simply won't be any magic around anywhere."

"Now that's where you're wrong dear." Pansy replied, "We aren't allowed to use magic, yes, but it doesn't say anything about the Ministry not being able to use it." She noticed his look of defeat and smirked. She leaned a bit closer to him, "Or anyone in Azkaban for that matter."

Draco sighed and rolled his eyes, "Would it be too pointless for me to say that you were right?"

Pansy grinned and patted him on the back, "Of course not." She turned to Luna and Susan, giving them a thumbs up and winked at them.

Draco frowned a little and turned towards Susan, "Huh. Didn't even notice you were here."

Susan turned slowly, facing Draco, "Only becuase you were arguing with Pansy for a while. Don't worry about it, I'm just happy you two stopped fighting finally."

Pansy scoffed, "Don't get your hopes up."

Luna giggled again and looked around behind Pansy for her squirrel.

"What's that supposed to mean?!" Draco snapped back at Pansy

"Oh my, I shouldn't have said a word about you two fighting." Susan said softly while she moved next to Luna

Pansy smirked at Luna and Susan and then turned to Draco, "What I mean is that whatever I say, you take the wrong way and get angry again. Exactly like you just did, thank you for proving my point." She exaggerated a grin towards Draco.

Draco pointed a finger at Pansy and began to say something, but stopped and sighed, "You know some days I hate you." He muttered

"So you keep telling me." Pansy smirked, not looking at Draco as he stomped his foot in frustration.

"See?! There you go again, deliberately being mean to me!" Draco snapped, pointing a finger at Pansy and looking at Luna and Susan, "Do you not see it?!"

"Hey Malfoy are you having a lovers gathering? Because that isnt the way to treat a female you know." Harry said laughing

"Hello Harry." Pansy replied, not looking towards Harry, "And why would I ever try to mean to you." She turned towards Draco, making a pouty face.

"You had a tone." Draco replied. He turned toward Harry, "And what exactly are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off with your little friends?"

"Stop being mean to Harry, Draco, he's welcome here!" Susan said as she was staring blankly at Draco

Draco growled toward Harry, "As much as I hate you, read this." He said, handing the newspaper to Harry.

Harry read the newspaper and stared blankly "What the hell is this! And as for Ron and Hermione I'm not sure where they are" he said throwing down the paper

"It's exactly what it looks like." Draco replied

"I know you already hated me but now everyone does. I mean what in bloody hell did I do!" Harry replied with anger

"Save it Potter and get over yourself, we have more important matters to worry about." Draco said, cocking his head towards the newspaper.

"I don't hate you Harry." Luna blurted out and slapped her hands over her mouth when she saw everyone staring at her.

Pansy cleared her throat, "Yes well then, I suggest that we talk to the teachers about this. Do you think Dumbledore knows already?"

"I agree with you Pansy, we should tell Dumbledore as soon as possible, I'm sure though he already does know, after all he is the headmaster." Susan said as she stopped looking at Luna with shock.

Draco shrugged, "Well then if he's the all-knowing headmaster, why do we need to talk to him?"

"As I said Draco, Dumbledore probably already knows what's going on but we should still warn him, just in case it hasn't floated up to his concern yet." Susan said plainly

Harry nodded "Susan is right," he stated as he held his forehead

Draco scoffed, "If we talked to anyone, it should be Snape. He'd be the one that would do something about it."

Pansy shrugged her shoulders, "Unfortunately he's right. No doubt Dumbledore already knows about it, he's probably known for a long time and he still hasn't done anything about it."

"Well Pansy do you think we can trust Snape with handling this situation while being honest with us?" Susan asked Pansy with a small head nod

"What? Are you saying that we can't trust Snape?!" Pansy glared, "Of course you'd say that, why does everyone else but us hate him?!"

Harry stared blankly "I don't know because I can tell you exactly what Snape would say if we told him. Snape would say "Yes I saw that in the paper Potter, well what ever you did Potter you probably deserve this." thats what he would say"

Pansy gave a small laugh, "Well of course you would say that! You're the one always doing something to antagonize the poor guy!" She said glaring at Harry

"You to stop it, just stop, we need help so I say we work out something that we all together can agree on,after all this is about us not being able to use any magic anymore." Susan said angerly to Pansy and Harry

Draco sighed, frustrated, "Alright everyone stop yelling!" He laughed to himself at the irony of him shouting not to yell, "Now we all know that this could mean trouble. Hell, I know this means trouble, no doubt someone will fight against it." He purposely glanced towards Harry, "But right now, I can't believe I'm saying this, we all have to work together on this. Now I know that Snape is back at Hogwarts and I suggest that we go and find him. Now who's with me?"

Luna raised her hand and looked around at everyone, "I am! But why the sudden change of mind?" She glanced suspiciously at Draco.

Pansy raised her hand slightly, "Hm, that change of mind wouldn't have anything to do with your dear aunt possibly breaking out of Azkaban, now would it?" She whispered to Draco.

Harry sighed "I know your trying to help Draco but think about this for one second. You know as well as I do that Snape hates me more than you do. True he would help if you were the one in the paper but what makes you think he would do anything for me?" he stated firmly

"It does seem Snape has a additude towards you Harry,but maybe he will help us out just because we can't use any magic,anywhere and this involves Draco as well as everyone else" Susan said trying to sound fair.

"Who said this was about Potter?!" Draco snapped, "This is about all of us." He turned to Harry, "And if you're scared to talk to him, then I will." He turned to Pansy and Luna who had now stepped behind him, waiting for him to do something, "Anyone who's with me, let's go. We're heading back to Hogwarts to go find Snape." With that, Draco and Pansy turned on their heels and left in the direction of the school with Luna skipping behind them. Draco turned to Pansy, "And yes, that witch has a lot to do with it."

Potter looked at Draco "Im not scared of him Malfoy. Its that I already know what he is going to say!" he shouted at him

Draco ignored Harry and kept walking towards the school.

Harry sighed and looked around "Ron,Hermione where are you" he shouted

Ron walked out of a near by shop. "Bloody 'ell, no need to yell."

Harry laughed and looked at Ron "Ron did you take a look at the paper today?"

"No I ha'en't why?" Ron asked befuddled.

Harry gave it to him "well there is another negative post about me... thats not the worst part though the worst of it is that the Ministry has banned all magic. not anymore is it not aloud in the muggle world, but not aloud anywhere"

"Blimee bastards at the minis'try gone loony they have." Ron muttered.

Harry nodded "I swear Ron ever since Fudge got laid off, the Ministry has turned into an anarchy. I shouldnt say the same for Hermione because remember when we were first years she was such a book nerd. but look at her now she is turning into an attention freak"

Ron nodded. "Bit odd comin' from you Harry, but it seems you see the light."

Harry laughed "the light of what girls? any way where in bloody hell is Hermione anyway?"

"Probably out studying or trying to free some house elf." Ron said.

"Actually, I was in the Three Broomsticks," Hermione said, walking from the bar. She had her hair pulled back into a sloppy bun, out of which stray strands fell.

Harry looked at Hermione "were you drinking Hermione?" he asked her

"You really think I'd be drinking anything alcoholic?" Hermione asked, her hands on her hips and her voice answering his question with an underlying tone. "I was talking to Rosemerta...why are you so interested?" she asked. She'd been somewhat edgy for the past few weeks.

Their conversation was interrupted as Pansy stumbled up the hill. "Hello again." She said, a little out of breath from her run from Hogwarts. She looked at the group and frowned a little when she saw Hermione.

Turning at the sound of a familar voice, Hermione simply stared at Pansy. After a few long minutes, she crossed her arms and asked, "What do you want?"

"Well Ms. Granger," Pansy retorted back, "As much as I hate saying this, I've come for your help."

"Spare me," Hermione said, brushing past Pansy towards Hogwarts. She was walking rather fast and was leaving behind Harry and Ron to deal with the Slytherin.

"Hello Hermonie,is everything alright?" Susan asked nicely.

"Oh, hi, Susan," Hermione said as she slowed. "Everything's fine. I just don't like Mrs Malfoy behind us." She didn't exactly look at Susan, but nor was she ignoring her.

"Well,I dont really know Pansy very well Hermonie but she seems okay,and back to the big picture,we all really need your help,as you know us using magic is banned we meaning all of us together needs to find out how to get it back to us,so Hermonie will you please help us?!" Susan asks Hermonie hopefully.

Hermione came to a stop and looked back up at the hill towards Pansy, Harry, and Ron. "I suppose telling you I already planned to help would be of little consequence now, right?" she asked, turning back to Susan. "I was planning to see about us using an empty classroom to continue practicing our magic."

"Yeah,that'd be great,but remember what happened last time we tried to use a classroom?" Susan said thoughtfully "That one Professor found out and you,Harry,Ron and some others could have gotten banned from here."

Almost as if she didn't hear that, Hermione asked retorically, "I wonder if the Room of Requirement would work, again." She looked to Susan. "Would you care to join me?"

"With all due respect," Pansy stomped towards Hermione, "We can't use magic at all." She took her wand from her pocket and flicked it, saying the first spell that came into her head. After nothing happened the first time, she repeated the gesture a few times more, still with no results. She gave a smirk towards Hermione, "See? Even if we could find a room to practice, the Ministry has literally stopped our magic. Now Draco and Luna are waiting back at the school and I highly suggest that you all come back with me."

"Pansy is right Hermonie. Even in that room, our magic is useless. That's why we need to work something out,with someone,possibly Snape if we have to." Susan said sourly as she looked at Pansy.

"Well said." Pansy nodded, glancing at Hermione. She turned to Susan, "How about you atleast come with me? If these guys don't care that all the years of training is all for nothing right now, they can stay here." With that, Pansy walked down the hill towards Hogwarts.


"Alright,I'll come." Susan said as she turn to start walking away with Pansy.

Pansy gave a satisfied glance back, "Right then. Glad to know somebody's coming." She gave a small glare towards Hermione as she and Susan walked back towards Hogwarts.

Harry caught up to them and sighed "Yeah but the Ministry has no control over the dark lord." he said with anger

"Which is why I have a sneaking suspicion that Voldemort has something to do with this." Pansy replied, not even bothering to look back at Harry, "If you're that concerned about Voldemort, you'd best not just sit here and argue with me." She finally spun around, "Look. Susan and I are going back to meet Draco. Enjoy the rest of your day," She said smiling and patting him on the shoulder, "And bother us with this some other time when we aren't plotting!"

Watching Pansy and Susan walk in what seemed like silence, Hermione turned to Harry. "You, of all people, should know that the Room of Requirement will allow us to use magic," she said matter-of-factly. She turned to see Ron standing lamely where the trio had been before. "Why is he still over there?"

"Because you smell like dragon ass ya hag!" Ron snapped.

Hermione glared at Ron, advancing rather quickly on him. Without warning, she slapped him with her right hand. "Take that back," she said calmly.

"Why-" Ron began, then paused, flushing red enough to make his freckles look white. "I..I'm sorry, now get off my back."

"I'm not on your back, Ron," Hermione said turning to look at Hogwarts. "I just..." She stopped before even close to finishing.

Harry went back to Ron and hermione "would you both shutup already." he yelled at them

"We'll have to get back to Hogwarts soon, so hurry your blimey business up why don't you." Ron said.

Harry looked at Ron "what bloody bussiness Ron I dont have any" Harry said back

"Let's just go," Hermione said, taking the first steps into the trodden snow back up to the castle.

Ron said nothing and followed.

Harry followed them and sighed "Im sorry for getting mad at you two"

"wait,Harry,Ron,Hermonie" Susan said breathlessly as she ran to catch up with them three "I have a anouncment to make to you three,could you three please meet in the Grand Hall later on tonight,Pansy,Draco and I will be there" as she said that she went on walking towards the castle.

Watching Susan continue walking, Hermione slowed enough so that the trio was now walking together. "The Great Hall tonight?" she asked aloud. It didn't matter if Susan heard her or not, it was more of her thinking aloud.

Harry shruged "whats the use of going to Hogwarts anyway if we cant even learn. Heck if we cant use magic anymore i guess were muggles now right?"
